Mars Challenge seeks people able to listen to, analyse and assess projects developed by young people using shared criteria.

Your perspective can help recognise strengths, understand decisions and offer useful, respectful feedback.

Listen, analyse and record a responsible assessment

Evaluators review projects using the criteria and tools defined for the relevant stage. They may hear presentations, ask questions, analyse evidence, record assessments and offer feedback where the process provides for it.

• The mentor supports the process without directing it.
• The evaluator analyses and records an assessment.
• The jury takes part in the final decision according to its officially defined role.

An evaluator does not build the solution, support the team during development or replace the jury.

Relevant experience and the ability to listen

We do not only seek prestigious titles. We need people who can understand youth projects, apply shared criteria, recognise diverse contexts and explain their assessments clearly, respectfully and independently.

Preparation, time, independent judgement, conflict-of-interest declarations and protection of non-public information are required.
